Planet Bizzaro is the creation of Brian Zimmerman. The idea for the show came about when Brian was asked by a TV industry friend to create a puppet character that could do a series of Public Service Announcements. That meant a fun character engaging enough to impart environmental messages to kids. It was this original purpose that gave birth to Zoomer, even though our hero never became a spokesperson for Public Service messages. So the design for Zoomer was filed away for a number of years. Then in 1995, Brian began to dream up Planet Bizzaro.

Zoomer became an alien and his cast of space friends, together with the wacky world they all live in, started to take shape. It wasn’t long before what we know now as Planet Bizzaro became the design for a live-action puppet show. It came to came to life in 2005 as a set of twelve comic shorts for Nickelodeon, called “What Planet Are You From.” Then, a year later, that concept evolved into the present series “Planet Bizzaro, The World According To Zoomer.”
